Okay, this incident JUST happened. A warlock (who will remain nameless) in KF who I've known for ages just posted the recipe for [Robe of the Void]. The conversation went as follows:
Tox: "Wouldn't that be fairly useless to you compared to your current gear?"
Lock: "Depends on what I'm doing, sometimes less gear with better stats is best in a group."
Which frankly, I was a little confused about. Less gear is NEVER better. Had he said something along the lines of "sometimes lower level gear with different stats can benefit your group." would have made a lot more sense at the time.
"Have to go with what the group needs, not my needs lol."
Still not quite having figured out what he said (I'm slightly dyslexic, so sue me.), the conversation continued:
"Unless you realize that the robe is BoP"
"wait"
"just got what you said"
guild laughter
"But still, I'm sure that was an amazing robe pre-Burning Crusade, but it's just not really up to snuff anymore."
"You have to think about it Van, (he's the only one that calls me that) if I have my felguard out anything that helps keep him alive helps keep the group alive. I'll take less stats if it means going further."
Frankly I don't agree with that, even if he is demonology spec'd. I know a little bit about warlocks, and I'm pretty damn sure that their minions perform better based on the warlock's stats, so if you're loosing a lot of stats, then your minion isn't going to perform as well, even if you can keep him alive slightly longer.
"ya, 450-750 health is really gonna make a difference in raids..."
a snide remark, I know, and I definitely didn't feel good about it. It also kinda lead to an argument, which I hate happening and gave me a gut feeling that something bad was gonna happen. I'd only experienced that feeling once before when playing WoW, and it was during the giant upheaval of the True Assasins (former guild KF was formed from), so it's not a good sign. I won't go into the details of the argument, it was short and I attempted make amends but it definitely didn't feel good.
Well, Thanks for listening to this random rant and test of the hyper link function.
Good Hunting,
Tox
