Normally I would have found some song to quote by now, but none I've been listening to recently have anything remotely rogue-related.
--------------------
It's late, sometime around 3:00am, and I'm just questing in Terokkar trying to ding and whatnot. I hate that place, it's just annoying...sure it provides good cover and plenty of shadows to hide in, but it gets on my nerves with all its little critters and lack of bright light disturbs me. If you're confused about the bright light thing just know one thing: The brighter the light, the darker the shadows.
Back to the story. Late one night, questing in Terokkar, wondering about how these people are constantly awake and offering quests but other then that minding my own business sneaking around the Firewing point or whatever it's called....which probably isn't minding my own business as much as it is espionage against those belfin' b@stards. Either way I was on my own, force of habit, people tend to annoy me. And along came a little gnome-lock trying to pretend to be a rogue. It was kinda funny to watch, seeing him hide in dark corners and in bushes attempting to be all sneaky. Naturally it didn't work, he had a voidwalker minion with him which kinda made his position far too obvious. That's also a good reason why rogues don't use pets or minions, they're just a little too blatant...except for nightsabers with prowl, those things are the cat version of rogues.
Back to the gnome-lock. Naturally he couldn't see me so I decided to have a little...."fun" with him. Distract, stealth poke from behind, watch him spin in circles, randomly appear above him flying through the air daggers draw, get close enough to see the whites of his eyes writhing with fear, vanish. That little bugger wasn't sure what was going on, but holy hell was he scared. That stuff is so much fun, I love it. Just another reason for being a subtlety rogue in my opinion. Especially when you're also like 4 times taller than your target. Man, I do love the startling that's possible when being rogueish. Anyways, left the little guy alone for a while, he was being pretty cautious when going around corners and I'm pretty sure he busted out his engoggles to improve his stealth detection. Good idea on his part, but it's not gonna help, no one can find me when I'm vanished. Stealthed? Possibly. Vanished? Hell no. Though I've gotta say, hunters with their flares make me rather nervous...a skill that de-stealths me without seeing me? That just sucks...I found that out the hard way...Tox was showing me some cool things about being a hunter, that one wasn't so "cool" for me. Man, did that Vengeance of his chew me up, that's one vicious dinosaur. Especially when he does the big glowy red thing. No fun for me when that's happening.
Man, I'm getting side-tracked left right and center today. Back to the gnome-snac*cough*sputter* I mean gnome-lock. Ya...lock...that's what I meant.../shifty-eyes
So he was doing some quest in the same area so I decided to help him out since I'd already finished all my dealings there...but not say anything about it, just going in and being all quiet like until he attacks then delivering my swift rush of blades into the enemy's backside. This went on for a while without him saying anything to me, probably because I disappeared to quickly for him to see what went on. He must have been getting cocky though, cause he started going for bigger pulls thinking that either he was doing a lot of damage really quickly (which he wasn't) or these guys were easier to kill than most other enemies of the same level (which they aren't). He made the mistake of trying a 6 pull. There was no way in hell I was gonna help him out with that sort of pull. That's just suicide for people who aren't tanks or in full groups. So on that note I quickly and quietly made my back to the Allerian Stronghold. A short while later I heard the faint, shrill screams of a gnome dying from the general direction of the firewing place....I chuckled to myself as the thought "Looks like he's been taught a lesson he won't soon forget" crossed my mind.
Until next time...
