Update from the Frontlines

As you may or may not have noticed, I haven't blogged for a while.  This is due to the fact that I've been pretty busy in WoW, runnin' around, killin' stuff, apparently experiencing new content that I hadn't encountered yet.  It's been a very eventful week for me.

It started last Tuesday.  I actually, without any interuptions, went through Kara.  Ya, big freakin' deal, the place got nerfed, and I didn't get anything useful out of it.  I know, I know.  But hey, it's content (and quests) I hadn't seen/completed before.  I was pretty stoked on it.  Anything I could have used went to either the shaman or the rogues, so nothing of great value came my way...Danged Rogues and their need of the exact same stats on rings as hunters...

Anyways, Y'all know of the Necropli that are invading, correct?  Well, apparently I'm REALLY good at tagging rare spawns at them, I've gotten 3 out of the 4 different leggings, my favorite being the [Blessed Greaves of Undead Slaying] that I got on the first rare kill.  And they were definitely a huge upgrade from what I was previously using...I still had the reputation PvP leggings on.  Ya, bad news bears.

Later that night of the first day of the necropoli, I managed to wriggle my way into a Zul'Aman PUG. Again: It's been nerfed, but it was still new content all the same.  We got the 3rd timed event even with an unfortunate wipe or two on random trash accidental pulls.  And you know that Dragonhawk Boss?  Well, we certainly showed him...sorta...I was the only DPS that completely survived that fight, we still had the tank and either one or both of the healers up, but I was the only DPS, and that's what matters to me.  ;)

Anyways, long story short, I actually managed to get some gear out of it and finish all the quests involved with the place (minus the blood of zul'jin one).  The Coif of Jungle Ugliness, and the Berserker's Call.  I now have a new raiding trinket.  Sure the MADNESS!!! trinket is good, and probably always will be, but I'll keep the 51 stamina for soloing, thanks. And have you SEEN that helm?!?!?!  It's as ugly as sin....I cringe just thinking about it.

On a less "I hate the look of this helm" note, I also recieved a big glove upgrade.  I was using Ar'tor's Mainstay, but now I've got my Blessed Handguards of Undead Slaying which are just such a huge improvement.

Dramthar's also been doing pretty well, he's gotten the three epics of the leather undead slaying set, replacing 3 different 109-115 item level blues with 115 epics.  He's a happy camper, and a considerably deadlier one too.

Oh, and just incase you weren't aware of it, raiding gear puts out WAY more DPS than PvP gear.  I was doing headless horseman runs with both Tox and Dram, and with both toons having raiding gear, I was the top DPS in every occasion.  People just don't seem to realize that there are, in fact, different types of gear orientations, and you should be using whatever maximizes your effectiveness in that scenario.

Oh, and on that ZA run, I was dishin' out around 1028.4 DPS, second highest next to a hunter who apparently BoJ grinds for gear.  And I still have a Sonic Spear.  Damn Straight.

I've only got 1-2 blues on either Tox or Dram left to replace now.  The Sonic Spear mentioned previously, and some random armor stuff like bracers and boots that I haven't replaced on Dram yet.

Alright, quick recap of what I got upgraded/replaced.

On Vantox:

On Dramthar:
Ring of Ghoulish Delight replaced Random green ring of the Bandit

As you can see, it's been a big week for both toons, though Tox still has far superior gear in most cases....and it's gonna stay that way if I've got anything to say about it.

Good Hunting,
Tox
