Alright, here's the deal: First day back happened to be a Tuesday, which means a Kara reset, which led to me being taken in as the only hunter in the group as we headed through Kara. We've decided to not rush things and just take them one day at a time, cause we can and there are a lot of people who have stuff like families to deal with :P
Anyways, We start off with Attumen, naturally. Cleared out all the mobs before him in some time less than 10 minutes, at which point one of our three healers disconnected. Yay, fun stuff....gave him about 2 minutes before we decided to 9 man him. No biggy, done deal, a couple of upgrades for the mage in the group but nothing cool (hunter-wise anyway).
Next we take on the Animal boss, whatever one pops up. Go in, kill stuff like crazy, the Lurker thing shows up and drops his plate belt of the monkey, goes to the resident ret pally who is overly stoked on it.
Now to the real goal of the night: Moroes and his goons. The plan started off with the raid leader being overly confident in my trapping skills, which is gonna cause problems if he's not too careful about that confidence. Started off shaky, though we shackled 2 and I got my guy trapped at first, but I pulled aggro on the first target, which lead to a Feign Death. Uh oh, my trapped mob isn't gonna go after me anymore...that's bad....
Ya, not so fun, he went after the rogues and I had to try to pull him off of them and get him trapped again. Wasn't too bad, they knew not to attack it, he wound up getting trapped again. First target down, onto the second one. Main Tank was holding his own against Moroes and doing fine, but apparently our off tank didn't know he was supposed to be the off tank...that led to me pulling aggro, AGAIN. Another FD, my mob is back on the loose and not being overly pleasant to the group. With one of the shackles freed up a priesty friend of mine helped to try and keep my mob under wraps....ya, that didn't work, he was too close to the action and he kept breaking free while we focused on Moroes for no reason that anyone fully understood.
Wipe, wasn't the worst I've seen but still not overly pleasant.
Take 2.
Start off the same way, but we make sure that our off tank is ready to do his tanking job. This time it goes off without a hitch. I keep my mob trapped, priesty helps out when his mob the group focus, we rotate what he's being trapped by, when one breaks, he gets hit with the other. I never lost aggro on him, no FD on my end, so he just kept running into my well placed traps then getting shackled until Moroes was downed. Then let the MT get some aggro on him, FD, focus fire, down like pancakes....mmm...pancakes....
Well met, everyone's alive and there's loot to be had! Nothing I liked, ret pally got a niffty cloak though...and he said something about hunters might wanting it. Pfft, Strength is NOT a hunter stat.
Called for the night, our goals were accomplished.
Wednesday. We continue on from where we left off. Maiden of Virtue = Dead like Doornail, MT got gloves that made him officially uncrushable, he was ridiculously excited. Apparently it was the smoothest Maiden kill they've had yet, and I was one of the few changes that was made. It's official, the Tox Meister (as I've taken to calling myself in-game) is a good luck charm.
Opera Event next. Romulo and Julianne, apparently the guild has seen it the past 4 or 5 times they've been in here, so it's old hat and they're getting sick of it. First round didn't go so well, didn't have a proper off tank set up so they eventually got us when they were both at like 5%...I was the last one standing, Feign Death is useful like that, though I couldn't pull off not dying.
Take 2, much smoother. Off tank set up, and I got into and auto-steady rotation when low on mana...that's the only thing I like about it, it's very mana efficient. Still never gonna macro it though. Anyways, we had them both dead at one point, but apparently we were BARELY out of the timer range and they both rezzed...this time we got them though, kept Romulo at 2% then killed off Julianne, back to Rom for a quick final beat down. We win, go team us, nothing good came of it that I can remember...druid gear and something that no one really wanted. We didn't have any druids in the group.
Next stop: Curator. Apparently everyone hates that fight. Funny thing is we got him the first try. Focus on the stupid flares until he goes and does his Evocation thing, then wail on him with everything you've got. We did it all nicely and whatnot, 3rd Evocation he was down to 15%, which is apparently exactly what you need to do against him, then just beat him down. Tab-Targeting is apparently very useful for that fight as I would find out (actually, I decided to try it before we started the fight, but it worked rather grandly). Rogue/Pally/Shaman token drops, and resto-shammy gear. This place was just LOVING our ret pally, he won the token too.
Called for the night, we'll pick it back up tomorrow. Next Raiding post: Shade of Aran and how I was told to deal with him (I'm by far the "noobiest" raider in this group, so they basically tell me what to shoot and when.) I'm just hoping that I get something out of this week's raid. It'd be nice to be able to say that I actually got me some hunter loot out of kara.
Good Hunting,
Tox
