Tanking Journal: Day 6

I can't believe I've only been doing this for a little under a week.  Heck, it still baffles me that I'm a tank!  And apparently a good one!  I was invited to off-tank 10 man Naxx and performed admirably (we could probably have used better DPS but the heals and tanks were great).  I did as I was told, I kited when need be, I taunted when what I was told was my responsibility, and things worked out nicely.  It wasn't a full clear by a long shot, but I did manage to pull off getting my Tier 7 shoulders off Gluth (I rolled first and got a 100, take that anyone else who could have used them).

And the day before I got the Red Sword of Courage which I had been craving and specifically running Utgarde Pinnacle for, along with some offset pants and my Tier 7 chest piece which I bought with emblems of heroism.  Plus the three instances I did that night (Utgarde Pinnacle, Gundrak and Utgarde Keep) were just such a blast with the people I was running with.  We only had one case of mass death or death in general, and that was entirely my mistake.  I wasn't paying attention to the healer's mana and pulled before she was ready, which caused a wipe... I'm slightly ashamed... but after that things went beautifully and I made some new friends.

I have to say that I've had the pleasure of running with some amazing PUGs in the past week.  Bladefist has become a much better place to PUG instances in than it used to be.  I remember back when I was a pretty fresh 70 being asked by a guildy (back when I was in a fairly large guild) to help in Slabs.  That was by far the worst PUG I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of.  The tank wasn't a tank.  He was a Fury Warrior.  And the only people left alive after the first of the big elite pulls were the two of us from the True Assasins (old guild, it was probably my favorite one I've been in as far as largeness and people in it).  I figured that just meant we were awesome, which I still figure is the only reason we survived.  Sheer Awesomeness.

Anyways, I've come to embrace being a tank, and out of a possible 17 slots that have stat boosting items Franny's got 12 of 'em filled with epic tanking gear.  In a week?  That's pretty awesome, I think I did pretty well for myself in that sense.

Alright, I'm out of here, I've got some Spirit Beast to level up.

Good Hunting.
